SHAPES, SHAPES, SHAPES!

HELLO FAMILIES!

WE WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT TO YOU OUR LAST TOPIC: SHAPES. DURING THE PAST WEEKS, THE SALSITXES AND THE MINERALS HAVE BEEN LEARNING THE NAMES OF DIFFERENT 2D WELL KNOWN SHAPES.

BESIDES, WE HAVE PLAYED A LOT WITH THEM, WE HAVE INVESTIGATED THEIR PROPERTIES AND WE HAVE USED THEM TO CREATE AN ORIGINAL ART PIECE.

EACH CHILD WAS ABLE TO DEVELOP THEIR IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY BY CREATING A DRAWING USING SHAPES. THEN, THEY WERE ASKED TO EXPLAIN IT ENUMERATING THE ONES THEY HAD USED.

HELLO FAMILIES!

TODAY WE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THE RESULT OF ONE OF OUR MAIN PROJECTS DURING THE FIRST TERM OF THIS YEAR: AN ORAL PRESENTATION ABOUT OURSELVES. WE STARTED THIS PROJECT BACK IN SEPTEMBER, WHEN WE REVISITED THE VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR STRUCTURES WE ALREADY KNEW AND TRIED TO PUT THEM TO GOOD USE IN A REAL COMMUNICATIVE SITUATION.

THE CLASS GROUPS HAD JUST CHANGED, SO IT WAS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE OURSELVES TO THE REST OF OUR CLASSMATES.

WHAT CLOTHES DO YOU WEAR IN WINTER?

FOLLOWING OUR MAIN INTEREST OF THE YEAR, THE SEASONS OF THE YEAR, WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE WINTER MONTHS AND HOW TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM THE COLD. MANY CHILDREN HAVE SHARED THEIR WINTER EXPERIENCES IN THE SNOW AND THE MOUNTAINS, WHICH HAS GIVEN US THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT A NEW FRIEND: FROGGY.

HE IS A VERY SMART FROG WHO WAKES UP DURING WINTER AND WANTS TO GO OUTSIDE TO PLAY. HIS MUM ASKS HIM TO PUT ON ALL HIS WINTER CLOTHES BUT, POOR FROGGY! HE IS MUCH TOO SLEEPY AND KEEPS FORGETTING PARTS OF HIS WINTER OUTFIT. THIS HILARIOUS STORY HAS ACCOMPANIED US AND HELPED US LEARN THE WINTER CLOTHES VOCABULARY.

WINTER IS HERE!

THIS YEAR, WE ARE PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE SEASONS OF THE YEAR AND ALL THE CHANGES WE CAN OBSERVE AROUND US.

AS WINTER IS THE CURRENT SEASON, WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT ALL THE FUN FILLED ACTIVITIES WE CAN DO DURING THE COLDEST MONTHS OF THE YEAR.

TODAY WE WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT WHAT WE LIKE TO DO IN WINTER, AS WELL AS THOSE ACTIVITIES WE PREFER TO LEAVE FOR THE WARMER SEASONS.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

THE LAST WEEK OF OCTOBER IS A VERY SPOOKY ONE… AS IT IS THE TIME TO CELEBRATE THIS SPECIAL TRADITION: HALLOWEEN!

THE MINERALS AND SALSITXES HAD A GREAT TIME INVESTIGATING WHAT A WITCH’S BREW IS AND WHAT YOU CAN PUT IN IT TO MAKE A SPELL. THEY CAME UP WITH A POTION INVOLVING A SNAKE, AN ANT AND A FROG AND MADE THEIR OWN CAULDRONS TO PERFORM IT.

AFTER SEVERAL DAYS WORKING ON THE PLANTS PROJECT, WE HAVE SEEN, DONE AND LEARNT SO MANY THINGS!

  • EACH GRPUP: PLANTED A SEED, GAVE A NAME AND TOOK CARE OF A PLANT
  • VERTICAL ORCHARD (Hort vertical) OBSERVATION
  • THINGS A PLANT NEED: AIR, WATER, SUN, SOIL
  • THE PARTS OF THE PLANTS: ROOTS, STEM, LEAF, PETALS
  • THE CYCLE OF THE PLANT (oral presentations)
    • FIRST WE PLANT THE SEED
    • THEN THE ROOTS GROW OUT
    • THEN THE STEM GROWS OUT
    • THEN THE LEAF COMES OUT
    • FINALLY THE FLOWER BLOOMS

AND PIP EXPLAINED US  4 THINGS A PLANT NEEDS TO GROW ! WATCH

YESTERDAY EACH GROUP PLANTED A SEED !! WE PUT THE SEED NEXT TO THE GLASS SO WE CAN SEE THE ROOTS GROW DOWN AND THE STEM GROW UP!
